Trademark dispute Jack Daniels vs Patrick Wensink

Jack Daniels v. Patrick Wensink This much-publicized dispute led to a much better (and funnier) outcome than most trademark cases ever do. Author Patrick Wensink was in the midst of launching his book, Broken Piano for President. The cover of the book bears a remarkable resemblance to the Jack Daniels whiskey label that you find on bottles of the popular Tennessee whiskey. While it’s all-too-common for large, corporate entities to scare the little guys out of using their trademarks, Jack Daniels went a different route and sent the following letter to Wensink: “It has recently come to our attention that the cover of your book Broken Piano for President, bears a design that closely mimics the style and distinctive elements of the JACK DANIEL’S trademarks…We are certainly flattered by your affection for the brand, but while we can appreciate the pop culture appeal of Jack Daniel’s, we also have to be diligent to ensure that the Jack Daniel’s trademarks are used correctly…If we allow uses like this one, we run the very real risk that our trademark will be weakened. As a fan of the brand, I’m sure that is not something you intended or would want to see happen…As an author, you can certainly understand our position and the need to contact you…In order to resolve this matter, because you are both a Louisville “neighbor” and a fan of the brand, we simply request that you change the cover design when the book is re-printed. If you would be willing to change the design sooner than that (including on the digital version), we would be willing to contribute a reasonable amount towards the costs of doing so. By taking this step, you will help us to ensure that the Jack Daniel’s brand will mean as much to future generations as it does today. We wish you continued success with your writing and we look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.” It’s rare for a cease-and-desist letter to carry such a nice tone. Understandably, Wensink obliged and changed the cover of his book.

Scrubs Galore is comprised of 3 core members; Morgan, Matt and Me. The three of us have shown a great balance of synergy and co-dependency in this project so far. All decisions regarding Paper Kill Paper are made unanimously through thorough discussions.

Propaganda

Propaganda to me is the ptb exploiting information media in order to have the public think in a way that is beneficial to them. Google describes propaganda as ''Official government communications to the public that are designed to influence opinion. The information may be true or false, but it is always carefully selected for its political effect.''
Same thing.

Matthew Patrick aka MatPat and Film Theory

MatPat is a youtube celebrity who made his debut with his channel The Game Theorists (April 2011). In this channel he works hand in hand with other youtubers overanalysing video games. They cover it all from diving into the lore of Five Nights At Freddy's, researching the tech of Halo, or picking apart the dark secrets of the Mario universe. If you love taking your gaming to the next level, then Game Theory is a channel for you.
It's a well presented show and they always come up with new intriguing ideas for videos. What really hooked me to it was the fact that they are all normal people who talk about their hobbies and present it so charismatically that it appeals to millions of people.

As of May 2014 a new channel, The Film Theorist was released. It's the same as Game Theory, a nerdy overdissection of movie logic and physics. It also includes a new show called Frame by Frame which looks into the history of cinematography. 

All in all, these guys are amazing and I strongly recomend both channels to anyone who likes video games and movies.
  

Latest works for Principles of Animation.

It's been great fun learning to use the wacom tablets for the past 6 weeks, Felicity's turn around poses were very challenging for me having never used a tablet untill now.

My first .gif still needs work

I've been working on turn around sheets for other characters in my animation recently. They are pencil drawn, ready to be traced and saved for further .gif  animating.

There are five more secondary characters I am planning on making turn around sheets for, (to use later on when animating Funklore), they are; Felicity's parents, Iruri's parents, the robber.

I believe I should be able to start working on the Funklore splash art picture once I get better at mastering the many tools PS has to offer while working on my characters' poses.

Egoraptor and the 'Awesome' series.

Arin 'Egoraptor' Hanson is the creator of the hugely popular online webseries the "Awesome Series" including "Metal Gear Awesome" and "Poke Awesome".
What started as a hobby on newgrounds.com quickly turned into a fruitful life-long career, widening his viewer base using youtube and creating his own website egoraptor.net.
Arin still remains a dedicated video gamer, his original take on animated game reviews (the 'Sequelitis' series) were welcomed with high acclaim by the youtube community. While his colloquial language and style make him seem unprofessional at first glance, the time and research he invests in really convey the passion he has on the subject at hand.

      Whether it be a fan-based parody or his highly opinionated point of view, any animation Egoraptor creates will surely appeal to anyone who already has had their own experience. Someone fairly new to video games who watches him for the first time will be very likely to see it as an ad.
Egoraptor's animating style and innovative way of communicating with his audience has greatly influenced me and will continue to influence me as I further my animating career.
